 Yunjin Kim nearly always writes "XOXO" with her signature. But what's the meaning of XOXO? Of course you will say XO means hugs and kisses, so XOXO stands for twice or many hugs and kisses. Absolutely right. But, couldn't there be a second secret fact? Indeed, there is. On the right you see the title of Yunjin Kim's Japanese photobook named ... XOXO. So, what's about this book? First you have to know Yunjin Kim is a Japanese Idol. What's this now? A Japanese Idol can be an actor, model or singer. Gravure Idols are commonly photographed wearing bikinis or lingerie or cosplay for photo spreads in magazines or photobooks. The Idols are very popular in Japanese culture and their books have a limited print run and are often collected like comic books. These books increase in value if there is a scandal, death or other media interest of the Idol.
In 2002, just two years before LOST filming started, Wani Books published just such a Japanese photobook featuring a slightly younger Yunjin Kim (than we know from LOST), although she is Korean native. |
